Engage Carousel Interaction 1.5 Released!

I released an updated version (1.5) for the Carousel Interaction. This update contains a few minor fixes as well as few enhancements. If you have published content with the first public release (1.3 or later), please download/install the latest update and republish for these changes to take effect.

Carousel.zip

Fixed:

– Image thumbnails not loading when in Presenter while the Tic-Tac-Toe or Flipbook interaction is hosted in the same presentation.
– Resume functionality when inserted into a Presenter tab.

Enhancements:

– Carousel stops when hovering over the rotating image thumbnails; this makes selecting the thumbnails easier and without having to chase them down.
– Rotation icons are displayed in the lower corners of the interaction;  this is to help end users better understand how to rotate the carousel of images;  simply hover the mouse over these icons to rotate the carousel of images clockwise or counter clockwise.
supports Background Color transparency from the Color Scheme Editor.

Note:  There’s no live feedback on transparency when making the change from the Color Scheme Editor. Please adjust the transparency for the background, Save the New Color Scheme. Reopening the Color Scheme Editor will show the new change.

Did you know the Carousel 1.5 interaction contains 3 hidden options that allow the author to modify the Carousel appearance? All of these hidden features are accessed through the Color Scheme editor in Engage. Changing predefined colors will either turn a feature on or off. See below for details.

Open an Engage Carousel interaction or create a new and Select Colors –> New Color Scheme

The hidden options are as follows.

Select the FAQ ->FAQ Button Text: This will change the border color for the text panel above the rotating image thumbnails. No other interaction has this option.

Select Tabs -> Background: Setting this to any color other than white will turn off the gradient color overlay (this overlay gives the appearance of a horizon when turned on).

Select Tabs -> Slide Background: Setting this to black will turn off the rotation icons that appear in the lower corners of the interaction (these icons were added in version 1.5 and I wanted to give users the option to turn this off.). Any other color will turn this on.
