Articulate Engage Flipbook Interaction Alternate

I’ve create an alternate version of the Flipbook Interaction that addresses some issues but comes at the cost of having to remove the page curl animation. If you can live without the animation that appears at the bottom right hand corner of the published Flipbook, the version provided in the link below has addressed the following issues:

  • Pages tearing off or getting stuck, sometimes revealing the fuchsia color we all love :-)
  • Offset position when inserted into an Articulate Presenter Tab (No Intro page)
  • Resume now works when Inserted into an Articulate Presenter Tab
  • Images set to zoom in a new browser window now work when inserted into and published from Articulate Presenter
  • General instability has been optimized and corrected

This version was created with the files that are provided with the Articulate Engage SDK. Any custom interaction built with the SDK is not supported by Articulate and is provided as is. I have done extensive testing with this and have not come across any issues when using this alternate version. However, in some cases, previous versions of the Flipbook require rebuilding from scratch where others convert to this new version without any issues. Regardless, all previous Flipbook interactions have to be opened in this new version and republished before the change will take effect.

Why don’t the capital letters show in the titles? After I installed your fix, this started happening. Is there any way to get around it?

Did you ever figure out the caps problem? I have the same issue.

        Dave,

I’m sorry. I haven’t had the time to dig this out. I’ll post here when I do.

Awesome template! Thanks so much. I have one issue that I am hoping you can help me with. When the interaction is loading, it shows the default blue color scheme regardless of the color scheme I have selected. Once it is loaded, my color scheme is visible. Is there a location where I can change the loading color scheme to match what I have selected?

      Donna,

The loading screen color was hard-coded and not designed for editing. I’ll look into implementing this in a future release. Please stay tuned!

We have been having problems with the flipbook getting stuck while running in Moodle. Is this a known issue?

Sorry I should have said we are working with Articulate — not your alternative.

        Graham,

I personally have never seen an issue with this interaction in Moodle. You might want to ping the support guys at Articulate and ask if they are aware of any issues. Make sure you supply links to the Moodle content and/or the version of Moodle installed. Also, try adding the Flipbook as a standalone or on a single Presenter slide and see if the issue persists. This might help isolate the issue.

        I hope this helps!

Thanks for the fix. It has resolved my page turning problem but I have the Caps problem too. MY work around for that is to put the heading into the page.
Now to resolve the problem with multiple links on a page all ending up as the same. Taht one is looking like hacking the code. GRRR

      Jo,

Great workaround to the caps not working in the title. I’m unaware of the multiple links issue. Can you fill me in here?
